Marine Rendering

We have over 15 years of experience providing Boat Builders and Naval Architects with pre build visualisations of boats, ships and yachts of all sizes.
At Light Enigma, we are dedicated to creating realistic renders, beyond the default Rhino render of a model to help sell the concept and assess the details of layout and arrangement. We can work with your .3dm or an .Iges file, and add more detail from from our vast library of fittings and parts. 

Reverse Engineering of Vessels

At Light Enigma we have been involved in a few projects where we have had to document a vessel and create plans that don't exist due to the vessel being too old or just that the vessel comes from an unknown builder or yard.
Hulls can be scanned using Lidar  technology to capture the main forms and combined with key measurements and research plans can be created

The re lofted hull surface of Cutty Sark can be seen here, the red lines are the scan surface of the lidar mesh, the C Jordan Midship can be seen as well, which lined up perfectly.

Rebuilding the hull of the Cutty Sark by resurfacing the scanned hull of the ship.
This also shows the planking.

The planking of Cutty Sark developed exactly as it is on the actual Ship, even the plank butts are in the correct places.
